Booking Terms Booking Terms apply to Cheviot Villa Guest House, officers, employees and agents (‘We’/’us”/’our”) and the person or legal entity making the booking or to whom “we” supply services in respect of the booking (‘“you”/”your”). These “Booking Terms” are governed by English Law and apply to all bookings except where “we” agree in writing other terms. By making a Booking “you” are deemed to accept these Booking Terms. Please also refer to “our” Accessibility Statement.

“Our” rooms are all finished to the same high standard and are designed to accommodate up to two people, we are unable to provided a third bed in any room. Other seating areas and computer facilities are for the exclusive use of “our” guests. Double Room Rates are fully inclusive and are per room per night and based on a maximum of up to two people sharing and includes cooked breakfast, a selection of cereals, teas, coffee and toast. The Twin Room Rate is based on two people sharing and includes a traditional cooked/continental breakfast a selection of cereals, teas, coffee and toast.Single Room Rates are fully inclusive and are per room per night and includes cooked breakfast, a selection of cereals, teas, coffee and toast.

Should “you” change the number of guests, dates or room nights, the rate may then be subject to change;

Arrival and Departure

Check-in is from 16:30 to 19:00 (GMT/BST). Check-out is before 10:00 (GMT/BST)
Check-in times outside of those specified should be requested and confirmed by “us” prior to arrival or departure.

Bookings & Deposits

“You” must be over 18 years and able to enter into a legally binding contract to make a reservation. A contract between “you” and “us” comes into effect when “we” accept and confirm a reservation from “you” and receive full payment of the total price. Please call or email within 24 hours to confirm reservation terms. When there are heavily subscribed events being held in the area and demand for accommodation is high, we will respectfully request a holding deposit of up to 50% of the total payable. Where “you” wish to change “your” booking, Cheviot Villa Guest House, may allow the transfer without treating it as a cancellation. Such transfers to another package will be treated as a new booking. Any discount or promotions applicable to the original booking may not apply to the new booking, in which case “you” shall be required to pay any difference in price. The criteria for allowing transfers may be changed by “us” at any time without notice.
All balances payable on arrival.

Cancellations

If “you” cancel “your” booking within 7 days of the scheduled check-in time on the date of arrival, a charge equivalent to the total booking price will be levied. To make a cancellation “you” must call Gavin Egdell on 01668 281448 or 07769808289 and quote “your” name and check-in date. Alternatively email cancellation@cheviotvilla.co.uk All refunds where applicable will be processed to “your” credit or debit card or by cheque within 7 working days.

Availability

In the rare case that due to unforeseen circumstances “we” cannot deliver “your” requested accommodation, “you” will be offered a full refund.

Liability

“Our” total liability to “you” is limited to the price of the Booking and to the fullest extent permitted by law all warranties are excluded and in no circumstances will “we” be responsible for any indirect or special damages. “We” will not be liable for failure to perform to the extent that the failure is caused by any factor beyond “our” reasonable control. “You” are responsible for any damage or loss caused to “us” or “our” property by “your” act, omission, default or neglect and “you” agree to indemnify “us” and to pay “us” on demand the amount reasonably required to make good or remedy any such damage or loss.

Cheviot Villa is a strictly No Smoking Establishment
For ‘your’ safety and peace of mind, Smoke Detectors are fitted in all rooms; in the event of a loss of power, emergency lighting will become effective in the areas of the hall, stairs and landing. In addition all rooms are fitted with ‘thumb turn’ lock fittings (inside room facing), for ease of exit in the case of emergency. ‘We’ ask all residents to be considerate to fellow guests and be mindful of creating any unnecessary noise or disturbance. Cheviot Villa reserves the right to cancel the remainder of ‘your’ stay in the event of any unnecessary disruption or inappropriate behaviour(s) on ‘your’ part
Here at Cheviot Villa we take our environmental responsibilities very seriously and are committed to reducing our environmental impact. We are dedicated to preserving the environment in which we operate, and therefore believe it is our duty to introduce environmental practices which set a high standard of excellence and responsibility. To support our aim we have developed an environmental management system that will set standards for improving environmental performance.

We recognise that without appropriate treatment the waste generated, together with the fuel and other products we use to feed, entertain and take care of you, could have an impact on the environment. All general waste is sorted to reduce its volume prior to landfill and wherever possible general waste is recycled. We are reducing our overall carbon footprint through the building materials we use, together with fuel efficiency measures, including, low energy lamps, increased use of renewable and sustainable energy and energy suppliers. We will aim to improve our overall performance and continue to explore new technologies.

Our Environmental policy also takes into consideration the use of detergents; therefore we will change guest towels every 3 days and sheets/bedding every 4 days unless guest request otherwise. The vehicle used by the proprietors has been converted to LPG for better fuel efficiency and to reduce the carbon footprint. We aim to be as ‘paperless as possible; we will email booking confirmation and receipts to the email address provided by you.
Cheviot Villa Guest House Accessibility Statement

General

Cheviot Villa was built around 1890 and is situated in the Conservation Area of Wooler. The property is a late Victorian Town House over 3 floors; unfortunately the layout has not allowed us to offer any ground floor accommodation, and therefore we regret we lack facilities for guests with severe mobility limitations. We welcome enquiries from guests with specific needs and we will try our best to meet these.

Property Location

Cheviot Villa is positioned on a slight incline to the property and is accessed from the street via 3 steps. The front door is an original part glazed door, but has a raised weather-strip creating a 1 inch (2.5cm) step on entry to the outer hall which has a level tiled floor. Access from the outer hall is a 3 stride level access to the reception hall with the dining room immediately on the right.

Dining Room

The dining room has a level access to a carpeted floor. There is 1 table which seats 6 people, positioned to allow as much manoeuverability as possible.

Bedroom Access

The bedrooms are accessed from the ground floor reception hall, by stairs leading to the 1st floor. There are 15 carpeted stairs to the 1st floor landing. After the last stair there is a 90 degree turn to the right; after 1 stride there is a further 90 degree turn to the right with 3 additional stairs to the 1st floor corridor, which leads to the Linhope Room and the Whitson Room; both rooms are accessed on the left of this corridor The stairs have a 6 inch (15cm) riser and 7 inch (18cm) tread,. The hand rail support is to the right hand side of both the stairs and the corridor.

At the end of the corridor a 90 degree right turn, 1 stride and a further 90 degree right turn, leading to an additional staircase to the 2nd floor. This staircase is also carpeted and has 12 stairs, with a 6 inch (15cm) riser and 7 inch (18cm) tread, leading to a small landing; straight ahead there is access to the bathroom via a single 4 inch (10cm) raised step. After the last stair there is a 90 degree turn to the right; after 1 stride there is a further 90 degree turn to the right with 3 additional stairs that have reduced headroom to the left (reducing as they are climbed), to the 2nd floor, which leads to the Homelton room on the left and the Foweberry room is located directly ahead. All rooms (excluding the stand alone bathroom) have a level access on all floors.

Bathroom

A door lock is positioned centrally to the right hand side of the door when opening the door, the bathroom has a raised 4inch (10cm) access to a level tiled floor. There is restricted headroom to the right.

Linhope Room

The floor is carpeted and level, with the light switch located on the wall to the right as you step into the room. However the en-suite is accessed via 3 downward stairs. There are numerous power points that will be pointed out to guests on arrival.

Whitson Room

The floor is carpeted and level, with the light switch located on the wall to the right as you step into the room. The en-suite has a level access. There are numerous power points that will be pointed out to guests on arrival.

Homeldon Room

The floor is carpeted and level, with the light switch on the wall on the right as you step into the room. There is reduced head room to the left within this room. There is no en-suite facility; however exclusive usage of the bathroom is available. There are numerous power points that will be pointed out to guests on arrival.

Bathroom access from the Homeldon Room

To locate the bathroom from the Homeldon Room; on exiting the room turn right, take 1 stride and descend 3 stairs which has reduced headroom to the right; on reaching the last step a 90 degree turn to the left, followed by a single stride and a 90 degree turn to the right will locate the bathroom door. A door lock is positioned centrally to the right hand side of the door when opening the door the bathroom has a raised 4inch (10cm) access to a level tiled floor. There is restricted headroom to the right. There is a bath and over-bath shower facility available.

Foweberry Room

The floor is carpeted and level, with the light switch on the wall on the right as you step into the room. There is restricted headroom furthest away from the door. The en-suite has a level access, as does the interconnecting door to the Homelton Room. There are numerous power points that will be pointed out to guests on arrival.

The en-suites

The Foweberry and Whitson room en-suites have level access from the bedroom. They have ceramic tiled floors. The showers are standard T-bar fittings with 2 shower heads. One head is fixed above, with a further flexi hose shower attached, which is operated via a separate change lever. The tray height is 6 inches (15cm) and the cubicle is enclosed using 2 sliding doors. The hand wash basins are fitted with easy to use mixer taps. Toilets have dual press flush. There are no wall mounted hand/grab rails.

The Linhope room en-suite is accessed via a door to 3 downward stairs from the bedroom. There is a ceramic tiled floor; the shower is a standard T-bar fitting with 2 shower heads. All Bedrooms

All bedrooms are equipped with TV, Tea/Coffee making facilities which will be pointed out to all guests on arrival. In addition all bedrooms can be locked by a key when exiting and by a thumb turn lever when guests are occupying their room.
